In our interviews, we have discovered two main career strategies. First one was very goal oriented – with clear short- and long term planning. Patience and perseverance were emphasised and making compromises and sacrifices. Second career path was less strategic and more spontaneous, linked more to opportunities that came along, the love and passion for the work they do and hard working. Women didn't plan their career per se, they only responded to given opportunities and chances. They were focused on hard work not on achieving specific goals. Career promotion came as a result of a hard work and was not carefully planned. Some of our interviewees mentioned a combination of both strategies: goal orientation and openness to spontaneous opportunities, luck, other people’s influence and encouragement.
